FOUR CEREMONY TYPES:

1. WEDDING CERTIFICATE or TABLE SIGNING (book under wedding tab or call 804-404-3110).

Your marriage is an event that will be etched in your memory for a lifetime. If you decided to ditch the florals, the cake, and the expenses of the big wedding. Or if you have a family member or friend that you would like to officiate your wedding, but they are not certified to sign your wedding certificates and make your marriage legal.

Give us a call or book your "Quick I Do" on the weddings page. This isn't a wedding ceremony, but a declaration of your intent to marry one another and a signing to legalize your marriage in Virginia. 

Virginia Wedding Certificate:
This very important legal aspect must be performed by a WEDDING OFFICIANT certified to perform your wedding in VIRGINIA and sign and submit your WEDDING CERTIFICATES.

Here's everything you need to know about the critical aspects of your wedding.

A wedding certificate is a legal document that confirms the union of two individuals. This certificate is issued by a governmental authority and serves as proof of your marriage.

Apply for a Marriage License:
You and your partner will need to visit your local county clerk's office to apply for a marriage license. Requirements vary by jurisdiction (city or county clerk's office), so make sure to check what documents you’ll need.

Wedding Certificate or Table Signing :
SOLID FOUNDATION is recognized in the Commonwealth of  Virginia to perform your "Quick I Do" or "Table Signing" and  Signing: After the ceremony, the couple, the officiant, and submit your signed wedding certifiates to the issuing authority (usually the county clerk) for validation.

Official Marriage License:
After your marriage certificates are signed, submitted and recorded, the government will issue you your official marriage license.

2. SAME DAY CEREMONY (book under wedding tab or call 804-404-3110).

A "same-day wedding ceremony" is a wedding where the marriage ceremony takes place on the same day that the couple obtains their marriage license.

The couple applies for and receives their marriage certificates (see above on how to do this), and then calls SOLID FOUNDATION to meet them to perform their same day ceremony.

We officiate SAME DAY CEREMONIES at our West End location on Parham Road, at Libbie Mill Midtown, Henrico County Courthouse, City of Richmond Courthouse, and Chesterfield County Courthouse daily. Call us at 804-404-3110 and book under the weddings page.

For those who want an intimate ceremony, but they don't want to get involved in elaborate wedding planning, a same-day ceremony is a straightforward option.

Cost-Effective: Generally, same-day weddings are less expensive as they often don't involve large venues, elaborate decorations, or extensive guest lists.

Immediate Gratification: If you and your partner have decided that you are ready for marriage and don't wish to wait, a same-day ceremony allows you to tie the knot immediately.

It's Intimate: Same-day ceremonies are usually smaller and can be more personal and intimate, focusing on the couple rather than a larger celebration.

3. ELOPEMENT  (book under wedding tab or call 804-404-3110).

A SOLID FOUNDATION ELOPEMENT gives couples the option to have an intimate wedding ceremony with up to ten (10) of their family and friends at a location of their choice in Richmond or throughout Virginia. 

Couples can plan their ELOPEMENT for a future date, or plan a quick ELOPEMENT for a date in the near future. Either way this intimate ceremony will be performed by a Certified Solid Foundation Wedding Officiant who will guide you through the process, officiate your wedding and sign and submit your documents to legalized your marriage. 

Eloping in Virginia with SOLID FOUNDATION still offers you the simplicity, cost effectiveness and intimacy of a Same Day Wedding, but you can make it an unforgettable experience that focuses solely on the union between you and your partner.

With a little bit of planning and the right location, you can create a meaningful celebration of your love now or later, with up to ten (10) of your closest family and friends. 

4. CHURCH/VENUE WEDDINGS, MICRO-WEDDINGS OR VOW RENEWALS (book under wedding tab or call 804-404-3110).

A church or venue wedding with SOLID FOUNDATION refers to a marriage ceremony that takes place within a designated location—either a religious setting like a church, synagogue, mosque, or temple, or a secular venue such as a banquet hall, hotel, beach, winery, or estate.

These types of weddings are generally more traditional and structured compared to elopements or same day weddings and usually involve a larger number of guests, comprehensive planning, and additional formalities.

Whether you opt for a church wedding imbued with spiritual significance or a venue wedding tailored to your personal tastes, SOLID FOUNDATION offers a myriad of options to ensure your day is special and memorable.

PREMARITAL COUNSELING SERVICES

At Solid Foundation Premarital Counseling is not a requirement for us to officiate a couples wedding, but we do believe that it is the single most important service we offer. Premarital Counseling is our attempt at helping our couples get married & stay married. 

We offer IN PERSON PREMARITAL COUNSELING SERVICES for couples in the Greater Richmond, VA Area & VIRTUAL PREMARITAL COUNSELING SERVICES to couples not able to come into our office.
